February 24

There's not a lot of time to write today. Our students showed up, bright and early. By 9 a.m. we had formed canvassing caravans. The older students were able to rent cars very easily and we rounded up enough local volunteers to drive other students around the area. Other volunteers gave out cards and tons of addresses. I'm not sure how many Democrats are in the state of New Hampshire, but I think we may have visited all of them already. And a few Republicans too, but those were by accident. I guess some of our information wasn't all that good. But our time was well-spent and we've had no reports of trouble thus far. Organizing the petitions will be a nightmare, but I'll worry about that another day.
It's hard to get used to the reporters. They're everywhere! I haven't seen television people yet, only newspapers. In fact, that news reporter dropped by few minutes ago to tell me that he filed his story with the AP. I asked what AP was, and he said Associated Press. It's going to be a big story on campaign volunteers and that we should look for it tomorrow. He can't guarantee it will be printed, but we should look for it. I didn't ask him if I was in it. I didn't want to be egotistical.
Tonight, we're going to have a social for the volunteers, it's going to last well into the evening. Maybe I'll be able to meet a boyfriend. See? I'm thinking positive.
